I just thought i would post a quick recipe. This will take me a few weeks to get this blog fully up and running. I havent decided exactly how i want this organized so just bare with the randomness.
Here is an easy Sunday Morning Recipe! * This is not a made from scratch recipe... just a doctored up pancake. I have a killer scratch pancake batter... but today I'm just posting the best way to have fresh homeade pancakes quick... no one has to know we cheated :)
Almond Poppy Seed Pancakes W/ Buttermilk Syrup:
yields about a dozen pancakes
Follow the directions to your favorite pancake mix. (We love Krusteaz buttermilk)
ex: For 12 pancakes- 2c. mix 11/3c. water
Add to batter:
2 tsp. almond extract
2 tsp. poppy seeds
2 tsp. vanila
2 tsp. baking powder
1 TBL. sugar
mix together till combined.
Buttermilk Syrup:
(i will post this recipe often because it is unbelievable...you will put it on everything....EVERYTHING)
1 cube butter (never ever margarine)
1/2 c. sugar
1/2c. buttermilk
bring to a light boil and boil and whisk for 1 min.
remove from heat add:
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda.
it'll foam up and be a little frothy! Yum.
cook up your flap jacks and drizzle this heavenly syrup over them. I toss a few sliced straberries on top to seal the deal!! xoxo

We are 4
Due to a hacker trying to take over my facebook I lost my blog. However I have the best reason in the world to start a new one! We are so proud to announce the arrival of our adorable son Westin Patrick Garrity April 16th 2012. He was 8lbs 3oz 20in with a fantastic full head of dark hair and(so far) blue eyes! He is a perfect eater, sleeper, and just a joy in our home. He has survived his sweet 2 year old sister Natalie who would love to carry him around if we let her.
Birth story:
I was at my dr. Appointment A few days before my scheduled cecerean... I was dilated to a 5 and had an hour to get to the hospital. We had to quickly find a sitter for Natalie. This was my first time leaving her overnight so I was extra emotional. We got all set up and then the scary stuff begins. I was shocked to hear that my husband could not be with me during the delivery of our son. I have an extremely low platelet count and would need to be put under for the cecerean. It took several hours for them to find my rare blood type and platlets for a transfusion. I was so confused and scared. They wanted minimal bleeding in case my blood would not clot. The reason for me being put out is so they could have the baby out withins seconds. I was scared but i knew everything would be ok. I woke up an hour later in the most excruciating pain. I could hear our baby crying. They placed Westin in my arms and he immediately stopped crying and for a few seconds the pain eased. He was perfect. The healing has been tough but worth it. We have 2 beautiful children that I would do it all over again.
Natalie is 2.5! She is full of life, a definite leader, and eager to learn. She is aware of everything...you can't get anything past her. She is a huge help with her brother. On several occasions I have fished out popcorn, scrambled eggs, and Cheerios from his mouth. She knows he isn't a "big boy" yet but wants to feed her brother. We keep busy with playdates, and parks.. We go for lots of runs... Errands... And enjoy being at home. It's a lot of work keeping Natalie entertained.
Westin is 5months. He is a little Rolley polli Ollie, he rolls and scootches around the floor. Westin loves toys, books, and the park swing. He thinks Natalie is so funny!! I love his smiles and giggles!
Daniel is the executive chef for the lodge sports grill in Kirkland, wa and the mulkiteo lodge in muk., wa. He works so hard... Long hours. We barely see him! We appreciate his hard work and understand this is an amazing opportunity for him! I am working Mondays at salon Bella! It's a nice break from the kids... Miss them dearly.. But love a little adult conversation and doing what I love.
We are a family of four with cute hair and full bellies! Welcome to our life!
